Bring It Back
Sue Kieswetter, the Outreach Coordinator at Bishops Preparatory, and a group of ladies from the Westlake Upliftment Project (an empowerment programme for unemployed people who are affected or infected by HIV/AIDS in the Western Cape) joined together to help them try and earn a living.
In October last year, Bishops Preparatory supported Bandana Day and had a “Bring your Bandana Back” campaign to promote the making of duvet covers and quilts to brighten the cots in the children’s ward at Victoria Hospital. Herschel Girls School and the International School also collected bandanas to be used.
The Westlake Upliftment Project ladies were presented with some of these bandanas and turned them into quilts and teddy bears which will be donated to Victoria Hospital. Civvies day money was collected to pay to have them made.
